On Monday, L’Equipe and Le Parisien reported Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana remains doubtful to represent France during the ongoing international break.

It was also said the defender was set to meet the national team’s doctor yesterday. There was no clarity over the nature of the centre-back’s injury.

RMC Sport now provide the latest on the Chelsea player’s involvement against Israel and Belgium in the UEFA Nations League.

The defender, who arrived at Les Bleus’ training camp at Clairefontaine on Monday, has injured his right shin.

It’s claimed the 23-year-old picked up a knock three weeks ago. That didn’t stop him from representing the west London club as he’s started in every Premier League game this season.

RMC Sport state the former Leicester City man underwent tests on Monday evening, at Chelsea’s request. They don’t specify the results of these tests.

The report adds Fofana should continue to be part of the France squad this month, barring any surprises. This indicates there are no serious injury concerns for the Chelsea man.

Fofana made his debut for national team debut in June 2023 and that has been his only appearance for France.
