Brentford’s Kevin Schade has been called up for the Germany squad for this international break. This is confirmed by the German football association [DFB] on their official website.
Julian Nagelsmann had initially not conisdered the Brentford player for the UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia& Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
Nagelsmann ‘nominated’ the 22-year-old to take Eintracht Frankfurt defender Robin Koch’s place in the squad.
This has forced Koch to withdraw from the squad and Schade will replace him for the two matches. The DFB claims the Brentford man ‘will travel’ today to join the Germany squad at headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
The Bees centre-back has made three appearances for Die Mannschaft since making his debut in March 2023. His last call up was in September 2023, when Hansi Flick was in charge. He has now received his first call up from Nagelsmann.
Schade has made nine appearances for Thomas Frank’s side this season.
