Manchester City could make ‘huge offer’ to seal signing – Rodri replacement in their sights

Last month, Manchester City star Rodri suffered a serious knee injury against Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola has stated Manchester City could be without the Spaniard for rest of the season. His setback has seen the Citizens linked with a few midfielders.

Two days ago, Calciomercato reported the manager has set his sights on Inter Milan star Nicolò Barella and Torino’s Samuele Ricci.

AC Milan are also in the picture to sign Torino’s rising star. MilaNews24 covers the latest on Rossoneri and Manchester City interest in him. Their title indicates the Premier League winners ‘want to get serious’ for Ricci.

Paulo Fonseca’s side are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Italy international. The report states their intention is to avoid getting into an auction for his signature.

He’s been chased by several Premier League sides, ‘in particular’ by Manchester City. It’s claimed Guardiola’s side could make a ‘huge offer’ to win the race to sign him.

There’s no mention of the fee Manchester City could propose, or the Italian club’s request. On Thursday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the Etihad club will have to pay close to €40m, if they want to sign Ricci in January.

Ricci has made eight appearances for the Serie A side this season.
