Federico Chiesa made his first start for Liverpool in their 5-1 win over West Ham United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The Italy international started on the right wing and was replaced by Mohamed Salah in the 59th minute. The latter has less than a year left on his contract.
Salah’s future beyond this season seems to be away from Liverpool. They have identified a few targets to replace him, and this includes AC Milan star Christian Pulisic.
That’s at least what Calciomercato.it are reporting, and they also provide the Serie A side’s stance on the 26-year-old.
Pulisic finished his debut season with an impressive 15 goals and 10 assists and has four goals and two assists from six games this season. That includes a goal in Milan’s 3-1 Champions League loss to Liverpool last week.
The attacker has ‘relaunched himself’ since leaving Chelsea. His contract at Milan lasts until 2027, with an option for another year.
Calciomercato.it state Liverpool would need to offer more than double what Milan paid for him. In other words, the Reds have to pay over €40m to sign Pulisic.
