If Liam Cooper was expecting an easier life at CSKA Sofia after the stresses and tribulations of Leeds United, he was sorely mistaken.

That’s if the latest on him from Nostrabet is anything to go by, with them listing some colossal expectations for the defender ahead of his debut.

The central defender moved to CSKA a few weeks ago and has been a hot topic ever since, with every aspect of his move from Elland Road analysed and assessed.

From his wages to the role he’ll play in the side, the hype has been high from minute one and it’s continuing to build ahead of his debut.

Nostrabet argue that the former Leeds made has ‘instantly raised expectations’ at the club between the squad and the fanbase.

They expect more from him than anyone else, believing he should be a barrier in front of the goal but also an ‘absolute leader’. It’s even claimed that ‘nothing less than that’ will be accepted.

Cooper is seemingly expected to be Superman, but they believe that’s exactly how it should be given he is a ‘star’ who led Leeds United hundreds of times as their captain.

That idea of him being the leader is one that is continually pushed and Nostrabet argue he ‘undoubtedly stands out’ in the squad as that man. Even the club have pushed the idea, stating that “we are changing gears” when announcing the defender earlier in the summer.

It all stems from his time at Leeds United, with the argument that once you have proven yourself at Elland Road in the Premier League and Championship, it is logical to expect him to be able to transfer that to Bulgaria and their ‘much weaker football’.

So, no pressure at all for Cooper, who it seems needs to be Superman to justify the big outlay the club have made on him.
