Club told to be wary of lightning fast and ‘extremely dangerous’ Southampton player

Ferencvaros have been warned they need to keep a close eye on Southampton youngster Samuel Edozie when they take on Anderlecht tomorrow.

Voetbal Nieuws cover comments from former Hungarian footballer Miklós Vancsa, who appears to be impressed by the Southampton man.

Edozie is spending the season on loan with the Belgium side, with Southampton having determined that a year in Belgium will be better for his development than remaining with them.

He’s made three Jupiler Pro League appearances to date and featured in 67% of the available minutes, without a goal or an assist.

Things are going well so far, though, with the player even publicly insisting as much in wide ranging interview today covering his experience of managerial chaos at Southampton previously and his desire to score more goals.

He’ll be handed his next opportunity to impress this week when Anderlecht host Ferencvaros in matchday one of the new Europa League format.

And Vancsa believes the Hungarian side need to keep an eye out having watched the loanee playing against KRC Genk and others early on this season.

“Someone like Adama Traore can cause damage as a left-wing attacker with his speed,” he said.

“Anderlecht is certainly not a bad team, but Ferencvaros can take the three points. At Ferencvaros, they have to keep an eye on Samuel Edozie. He is lightning fast, and he is extremely dangerous.”
