There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Galatasaray attacker Wilfried Zaha is unhappy following his loan move to Lyon this summer.

Zaha joined the Istanbul side on a free transfer after his contract expired with Crystal Palace, but his 12 months in Turkey didn’t fully go to plan and saw the switch to France.

Haber Turk have reported on Zaha’s struggles at Lyon, with claims his family have not managed to settle in the city. According to the report, Zaha had a four bedroom detached house with a pool in Turkey and is currently living in a Lyon apartment.

The Turkish media outlet say they’ve failed to adapt to life in France and are missing Istanbul. Zaha has yet to make his debut for the Ligue 1 side due to concerns over his fitness.

However, Zaha’s time in Turkey hasn’t always gone to plan and he found himself out of the starting eleven at the back end of last season. This led to reports throughout this summer he would be offloaded as he was no longer in Galatasaray’s long-term plans.

Subsequently the former Crystal Palace man was linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers said to be interested.

Despite these links, a move back to England never seemed possible due to the tax implications the player would have faced.

Zaha is contracted to the Turkish Super Lig champions until June 2026, but his future with Cimbom looks very uncertain.
