Sead Kolasinac has warned his team Atalanta to be wary of Arsenal’s strength from set pieces ahead of their clash on Thursday evening.

Atalanta’s official website cover an interview with the defender today as he gets ready to take on his former team in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s team kick off their European calendar with a trip to the Europa League champions tomorrow in the new look league format.

The Italian side will be hoping to make life difficult for their Premier League counterparts, having already proved tricky customers for Real Madrid in the Super Cup earlier this year.

Arsenal are no easy opponents, though, having started the season in fine form once again as they look to finally beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.

They’ve been steadily improving year on year under Arteta and that has included a surprising improvement on set pieces, where they are among the leading best in Europe.

That strength was seen over the weekend as they used it to their advantage to secure a 1-0 win over rivals Tottenham in the North London Derby.

And it didn’t go unmissed by Kolasinac, who believes controlling that aspect is the ‘recipe’ to beating his former team.

“For me it’s (Arsenal) one of the strongest teams in Europe right now if you see how they’ve played in the last couple of years,” he said.

“They have a lot of speed in front and the game plan from them is that they’re always strong on set pieces. We have to be really careful.

“But of course we also have our match plan that the manager has given us, and we’ll try to put that on to the pitch.”
