Patrick Cutrone had a difficult time at Wolverhampton Wanderers between 2019 and 2022.

Wolves took the striker from AC Milan, and he managed three goals and four assists from 28 games for them.

During his time at Molineux, the 26-year-old was sent out on loan to Fiorentina, Valencia and Empoli. He left the Premier League side for Como on a permanent transfer in 2022.

Il Giorno state the frontman wants to ‘take back what he lost’ in recent years at Wolves, Fiorentina, Valencia and Empoli. Their title has a quote from the Italian: “I want to be reborn among my people”.

Last season, he managed 14 goals and five assists, and played a key role in helping Como secure promotion to the top flight. He has two goals and an assist from four Serie A matches this season.

After a disappointing time at Wolves, Cutrone is eager to prove his worth at the highest level in Italy.

“I’ve been a bit lost in recent years. I chose Como to regenerate myself, with the team of my city, the shirt I care about most, surrounded by loved ones,” he said.

“I started off well, contributing to the promotion and winning the award for best player in Serie B. Now I want to confirm myself in Serie A, in front of my people, [as] part of an incredible corporate project that can open up many unexpected surprises.”

The former Wolves man, who missed a penalty in his side’s defeat to Udinese, managed a goal and an assist in Como’s 2-2 draw against Bologna.

“I couldn’t wait to play to redeem the missed penalty, the whole team and the fans supported me during these days. I entered the field calm, the only regret is not having won the match,” Cutrone explained.

“During the [international] break I spoke a lot with Fabregas, and against Bologna, for the first time, I played in my favourite role, central striker, like at Milan. And the goals came.”
