Manchester United failed to sign Juventus youngster Lorenzo Anghelè after an attempt earlier this year, according to a report from Italy.
The 19-year-old joined the Serie A side’s youth system from Sampdoria at a young age. He’s come through the ranks since and was promoted to Juventus Next Gen [reserve team] squad in October 2023.
The forward scored three goals and registered three assists from 33 games last season. His displays caught the attention of Manchester United, Atlético Madrid and Club Brugge.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who state these three clubs made offers for him in January.
There’s no mention of the details of the bids made by Manchester United and two other clubs. It’s claimed the Italy U20 international ‘said no to offers’ from these ‘important’ clubs and Juve also consider him non-transferable.
Anghelè made his first team debut when he came off the bench against Verona in August. The report adds Juve have already started talks with his agent to extend the contract.
Manchester United finished the winter 2024 market without making any new additions to their squad, after letting a few players go out on loan.
