All good things come to an end and Francesco Acerbi’s career in top level football is very much in its winter period. The 36-year-old has been enjoying a stint at Inter Milan since arriving in 2022 and InterLive say that whilst he doesn’t want to even hear retirement chat, the realities of ageing come to everyone.

Therefore, Inter Milan are on the lookout for a central defender, and their attention has turned to Nottingham Forest.

Murillo is of course the man in question. He joined the Premier League club from Corinthians a year ago and is contracted to Nottingham Forest until June 2028.

Since getting in the team he hasn’t left it, and the 22-year-old is a crucial player for Nuno Espirito Santo.

InterLive describe him as ‘complete and effective’ and ‘destined for great things’. There’s an acceptance he’ll cost ‘well over €40m’ next summer, but even that could be an understatement.

Murillo should see a Brazil debut not too distantly on the horizon, and that will only help his value grow. Given the length of his contract, Nottingham Forest are in a very strong position.

The only worry would be the defender having his head turned if Inter Milan do come calling.
