Ryan Kent departed Rangers last summer for Fenerbahce and a new adventure in his career. The 27-year-old had been at Rangers since 2019 and decided to leave Ibrox to try his luck in Istanbul.

That move didn’t work out well for him, and he went from being a regular at Rangers to a bit part player at Fener. He was even left out of the squad for the second half of the season.

Therefore, he was expected to move this summer. Leeds United and Ipswich Town were credited with interest and there was talk of offers from the two English clubs.

At one point, it was reported in Turkey that Ipswich Town were set to beat Leeds United to Kent, although that chance then fell away. The player is said to have continuously rejected every move presented to him over the summer.

He has a contract with Fenerbahce until June 2027 and doesn’t appear prepared to give that up.

Sabah and others now report that Kent has been handed a new blow by the Super Lig club on Thursday. They’ve submitted their squad list to UEFA for the Europa League… and he’s not on it.

There’s a very limited number of markets which Kent can now move to, and perhaps any interest from Leeds United or Ipswich Town should have been grasped.

Claims that Rangers made a late attempt, with Philippe Clement supposedly wanting him in the squad this season, only to be rejected, appear to be a misunderstanding of some Turkish reports.
