Austrian Bundesliga club Rapid are in a rush to finalise a medical and complete a deal for Stoke City’s Ryan Mmaee on Wednesday.
The summer transfer window in Austria doesn’t close until Thursday night but they want to make sure they finalise the deal today, reports Kurier.
That isn’t just so they can avoid the added stress of going through the paperwork for the Stoke City player on Thursday, but rather to make sure he’s registered for the UEFA Europa Conference League by Wednesday night.
They don’t want the danger of the player, who is arriving from the Championship club on a loan basis, missing out on Rapid’s squad for the European competition.
Multiple injuries in the Rapid squad have forced them back into the transfer market, and right to the door of Stoke City.
The 26-year-old has failed to really shine since his move to the English club, and it doesn’t sound like there’s been any fight put up against the transfer happening.
Kurier also report Rapid will have a purchase option, but they don’t make clear how much that will be.
