Liverpool’s Stefan Bajcetic will have to wait for his debut at Red Bull Salzburg Brexit holds up his work permit application.
That’s according to journalist Peter Linden, who covers the midfielder today and how he’ll have to wait to get started under Pepijn Linders.
Bajcetic has made the move to Austria on loan this season, reuniting with former Liverpool assistant Lijnders at his new club.
He’s departed Anfield temporarily in the hope of establishing himself in Austria and getting regular playing time that wasn’t on offer under Arne Slot after an injury hit season last year.
As the United Kingdom is no longer a part of the EU it means ‘it will take some time’ before the Liverpool youngster can get a work permit and permission to play.
He predicts a positive season for him regardless, arguing that Lijnders knows exactly what he is getting in the player, who he has worked closely with at Anfield in recent years.
The journalist also argues that the fact Liverpool have only allowed the midfielder to leave on loan, particularly when they allowed Bobby Clark to move on a permanent basis to the same club this summer, shows the Reds still have big plans for him in the future.
That’s something for the future and for now the focus is on getting him a work permit as quickly as possible so he can get started under Lijnders in Austria.
