The transfer window in the UK closed on Friday evening, but Kieran Trippier could still leave Newcastle United in the coming days.
The right-back has made one substitute appearance in the league and has featured once in the Premier League 2 for Newcastle U21s.
Eyüpspor want to take the 33-year-old away from Newcastle, according to Sports Digitale. They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update provided by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.
The Süper Lig side can still carry out business as the transfer window in Turkey closes on September 13th. Eyüpspor secured promotion to the topflight last season and have made an attempt to add the Newcastle player to their squad.
Sabuncuoğlu claims the Turkish club ‘met’ with the fullback to ask about the conditions needed to sign him. The Englishman’s deal lasts until 2026 and there’s no mention of the fee needed to take him away from Newcastle.
Eyüpspor are working on convincing Trippier to join them. If they are unsuccessful, Sports Digitale claim they will focus on finalising a deal for Marseille’s Pol Lirola.
