On Friday, we covered reports which stated Carlos Soler was set to fly to London after West Ham had refreshed their efforts to sign him from PSG.

The midfielder has been one of a numbers of players the Ligue 1 side have been prepared to let go this summer, so it looked like the Hammers would have a relatively easy route to a deal when interest was first reported.

Things, however, dragged on and it’s only really deadline day arriving which gave everything a kick towards the line.

Mundo Deportivo now give the Spanish source slant on the move and they report Soler is ‘heading to London’. We’d hope he’d be there by now, given the Friday morning claims said he’d set off.

Anyway, Mundo go on to say West Ham will be signing the 28-year-old on loan with a purchase option for next summer.

The Spanish newspaper believe he could be a replacement for James Ward-Prowse, who has been linked with an exit today.
