Wolves secure 35% transfer clause – Crucial part of deal for PL club

Daniel Podence is departing Wolves on a permanent transfer, with the attacker heading off to pastures new and getting a taste of Middle East football.

He’s set to join Al Shabab, who are managed by his compatriot Vítor Pereira which may have had some influence on the Wolves player’s decision.

The transfer has been in the works for over a week, and considered to be a done deal in recent days. O Jogo report Al Shabab will be paying Wolves €6m for Podence, a fee which had already been reported elsewhere.

What they do add is that the Premier League club have retained themselves a rather large sell-on clause. O Jogo put that at 35%, and whilst they don’t it clear it would be assumed that’s 35% of any profit from a future transfer.

Daniel Podence signed for Wolves in 2020 and has failed to have the impact that many expected from him. He spent last season on loan in Greece with Olympiacos.
