Everton and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah late in the summer window, according to L’Equipe.

The winger initially joined the Ligue 1 side from Belgian side RWD Molenbeek on loan in August 2023. Last month, Lyon invested €28.5m to make his stay permanent and offered him a deal until 2028.

Nuamah could leave before the window closes on Friday, and Everton and Nottingham Forest have emerged as the contenders.

Both Sean Dyche’s side and the Reds have contacted Lyon to ask about conditions needed to secure his services.

Despite buying him just over a month ago, L’Equipe say Lyon ‘wouldn’t oppose’ his sale to improve their finances. It’s further claimed the French club would demand €30m for the Ghana international.

There’s no mention or suggestion that Everton or Nottingham Forest would be willing to meet Lyon’s request.

As well as the Premier League duo, two unnamed clubs from Saudi Arabia have contacted his agent. He has ruled out a transfer to the Middle East, but there’s nothing mentioned about a move to England.

Lyon owner John Textor has publicly expressed his desire to invest in buying Everton. It’s not clear if this has something to do with the Toffees’ interest in Nuamah.
