Southampton are expected to complete a deal for Nice’s Daouda Traoré before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that a deal is ‘expected’ to take place between the two sides.
The newspaper reports that Nice are set to sell the young midfielder to Southampton in the coming days. Traoré is expected to sign before the end of the window.
Details of the transfer have not yet been released but it will be a permanent move and not a loan. The idea is that Traoré signs for Southampton and then could be loaned out for this season.
Traoré has only made two appearances for Nice’s first team to date, totalling 28 minutes in total. He made his debut in Ligue 1 in May this year aged 17 year’s old.
He’s very much one for the future but it seems Southampton have seen enough to convince them to make their move before the end of the transfer window.
A deal appears to be in the final stages, at least according to L’Equipe’s information, and will be finalised before the end of the transfer window this week.
