Last Friday, we covered claims from Brazil which stated Wolverhampton Wanderers were in talks to sign Fluminense’s André Trindade. The Premier League side aren’t alone as Nottingham Forest are also in the picture to sign him.
That’s according to Lance, who state that the midfielder is a target for the two English clubs.
Wolves and Nottingham Forest are showing interest in the 23-year-old, but they haven’t made offers so far.
Fluminense president Mário Bittencourt has said he’ll do everything to find a European club for the player in this window. He has also stated the Brazil international has received approaches from other clubs, after Fulham ended their interest.
The English club, who have been keeping an eye on the Brazil market, have followed the player closely. Danilo suffered an injury earlier this month and the report says this could be another factor for the Reds to make an approach for his compatriot.
At the weekend, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was in Rio de Janeiro for the U20 Intercontinental Cup tie between Flamengo and Olympiacos. It’s not clear whether his trip to Brazil could have anything to do with his side’s interest in André.
There’s ‘expectation and certain optimism’ that André will be sold in the coming days, but then there has been for months. Nottingham Forest are just the latest side linked.
