Earlier on Monday, both Mundo Deportivo and Sport explained that Barcelona’s Álex Valle is going to Celtic. It was also reported Brendan Rodgers’ side will sign him on a loan deal.

The left-back has less than a year left on his contract. The two Catalan newspapers stated that he’ll extend that deal until 2026, before moving to Celtic.

Valle’s move to Celtic Park is edging closer if a fresh report from Sport is to be believed.

Two days ago, Barcelona sealed a 2-1 win over Athletic and they’ll face Rayo Vallecano away from home on Tuesday.

Hansi Flick is conducting a training session on Monday morning and Sport state that Valle is ‘not there’. They have shared a short clip of the session, where Lamine Yamal arrived late.

Valle’s absence indicates he’s travelled or will soon travel to Scotland, to complete a loan move to Celtic. It remains to be seen whether Brendan Rodgers’ side will have an option to make the Spaniard’s stay permanent.

He spent the last 18 months out on loan at FC Andorra and Levante UD, and is now set for a new spell at Celtic.
