Sevilla have agreed everything with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Valentín Barco but need to work out an agreement with the Seagulls.

That’s according to AS, who report that the Argentine is the one the Spanish club have chosen to replace Marcos Acuña.

The newspaper reports that Sevilla are currently locked in negotiations with Brighton over a loan deal for Barco. They would like to include a purchase option in that loan deal.

They have already agreed everything with the player who they want to replace Acuña. The Argentine has returned to his homeland wit River Plate.

Barco is the man they’ve been following him for some time, since he was playing in Argentina. The reports they have on him have convinced them he’s the ideal signing rather than Marcos Alonso or Juan Bernat, who have also been offered.

The big question is whether Brighton will accept what they are willing to offer. A report earlier today had indicated they did not want to lose the player long-term.

There is also a question as to whether Sevilla would be able to register Barco. They’ve opened up space in the wage bill with Acuña’s departure, but it may not be enough.

Either way, negotiations are ongoing with Brighton over a loan deal that will include a purchase option if they get their way.
