According to a claim in the Turkish, Besiktas attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has distanced himself from a transfer to either Brentford or Bournemouth.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a return to England throughout the summer as the Super Lig side look to offload him.
Fotospor have reported on the latest developments regarding the former Liverpool player’s future with Besiktas and they say his move back to the Premier League looks under threat due to tax implications.
Brentford and Bournemouth have reportedly been in transfer talks to sign the player, but it seems at this stage he will be remaining in Istanbul. Southampton and Sheffield United have also been linked with the midfielder.
Throughout this window Besiktas have been trying to sell the player as they look to get him off their wage bill. The Turkish side have also brought in a number of overseas players this summer which means they have gone over their Super Lig foreign player quota.
He’s contracted to the Black Eagles until June 2026.
