Everton trying to hijack PL deal – Player already in England, ‘next few hours decisive’ for Toffees

One of the candidates to definitely leave Napoli, the Swedish midfielder seemed set to complete a move to Brentford until the switch fell through.

There might well be another fresh twist in the midfielder’s situation, with him still looking for a new club after an uneventful stint at Napoli.

Corriere del Mezzogiorno, as relayed by TuttoNapoli, have reported today that while the player seemed set to join Ipswich Town, Everton have emerged as a potential competitor.

There was an agreement with Ipswich over a dry loan, but it seems as if Everton are trying to hijack the move, having previously dealt with Napoli when taking Jesper Lindstrom.

It is stated that the ‘next few hours are decisive’ for Sean Dyche’s side, who are keen on signing another player from Napoli.

We previously covered Gianluca di Marzio’s claim that Everton asked for information for Cajuste, and the situation has evolved since then as the Toffees’ interest has developed.

Ipswich have concrete competition in the race now. The player is already in England to sort out his future and it won’t be long before his destination is decided.
