Everton are showing an interest in Entella midfielder Nicolò Zaniolo, according to claims in the Italian media. TMW have today reported Everton are monitoring the 17-year-old, who has played just a handful of games for the Serie B side.
The Premier League club have sent scouts to watch the youngster play for Entella this season, and could possibly look to make a move in the next window.
However, Everton will face competition from FC Koln to sign Zaniolo, with the Bundesliga side also sending officials to get a lowdown on the playmaker.
Zaniolo only made the breakthrough to senior football this season after joining Entella on a free transfer from Fiorentina in the summer. The player has represented Italy at U18 level.
It’s unlikely Zaniolo would join Ronald Koeman’s squad if Everton did swoop to sign him, with the youngster much likelier to add to the youth ranks or go out on loan.
