Wilfried Zaha certainly won the hearts of many during his spells in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
The winger, who is now at Turkish side Galatasaray, may be about to return to England after only a season away from English football.
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported on the possibility of Leicester City signing the ex-Palace man. While he covered David Ornstein’s claim that Zaha is interested in a move to Leicester, he also added more detail.
The journalist states that Galatasaray have told Leicester that the Foxes would have to pay a loan fee for Zaha, but the Turkish club are willing to pay the 31-year-old’s entire salary.
This would help Galatasaray in freeing up some finances in the ongoing transfer window, while also potentially helping Leicester have a player that they don’t pay the wages of at all.
‘Negotiations are ongoing’ according to the Turkish journalist.
It’s worth noting that on Friday evening, the same journalist reported Zaha had agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace, and that the Eagles were close to agreeing a deal with Galatasaray.
Maybe Leicester City are being used to pressure Palace into paying up a little more.
