The Italian press has previously made no secret of the fact that Stoke City defender Mehdi Leris is going to join Serie B side Pisa, however, there seems to be a minor hold-up in the move.
Quotidiano Sportivo had reported some days ago that the winger would soon join Pisa and the expectation was that he would arrive in the city early this week.
But time has passed and the player’s medical hasn’t place. La Nazione have, today, provided an update about the situation.
They make it clear that there has been a delay in the move and the medical has been pushed back for a few days, at least. The date of when it will take place remains unknown.
‘One last detail’ is being ironed out with Stoke and so far, information from both ends of the deal suggests that Leris will be a Pisa player soon.
The delay isn’t harming the move in any way and it is still expected to go through. Stoke, as has been previously reported by Quotidiano Sportivo, will earn over €3m from the sale.
