There has been quite a bit of confidence in the Italian media that Napoli will end up signing Brighton’s Billy Gilmour for not much over €10m.
We covered Gazzetta dello Sport’s claim yesterday, as the pink journal urged Napoli fans to not take much notice of Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler saying Gilmour was returning to Seagulls training this week, because it was insisted the club know he’s leaving.
At the same time, Corriere dello Sport report the offer will be adjusted. The Italian press has suggested in recent days that a fee of around €13m could seal the move, but there’s no repeat sources saying that offer hasn’t been made yet.
Despite that, there’s almost a cockiness in the media around Napoli with regards to getting the Gilmour deal done within a few days.
Surely a decent increase on that offer will be needed for Brighton to play ball.
