West Ham United certainly had a busy end to the scheduled working week, with offers going in all over the place and genuine progress being made on good transfers.
One of the players they advanced for is Niclas Füllkrug, and he’s set to move to the Hammers for the coming season. Saturday’s edition of Bild puts the transfer fee at €27m plus a potential further €5m in bonus payments. There are slightly differing figures elsewhere in Germany, with the consensus coming in at around €30m for the 31-year-old.
Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund’s local newspaper and repeatedly offering excellent inside information on the Bundesliga club, have explained why the striker is choosing to leave for West Ham.
However, Ruhr Nachrichten report people close to Füllkrug have told them the player was left ‘really upset’ by Dortmund signing Serhou Guirassy and therefore relegating his role somewhat.
On top of that, West Ham are offering a four year contract when he only has a deal until 2026 at present, and that provides more security for the future.
