The new project at Inter Milan is well under way now that Stefano Pioli has been sacked, and the Serie A club want the best of the best to try and return success to the San Siro in the coming years.

All of that starts with the right manager, great players, but also a solid plan for the future, which includes a lot of promising youth players coming through the academy.

While they have a lot of their own talent already being developed, Inter Milan are also looking around at other clubs to see if any promising youngsters would be interested in joining them, including one from Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to FCInterNews, the former European great are keeping an eye on Brighton U18 starlet Luis Garcia, and have been following him for a long time.

The 17-year-old’s vision has particularly impressed, with similarities to David Silva being evoked, but Inter Milan also face competition, with Sampdoria, Malaga, Sevilla and Valencia all said to also be interested.

The fan website also got in touch with the Seagulls midfielder’s agent, who said: “I’ve already brought young talent to Italy, and I could do it again with Garcia. A few clubs from there are following him. Out of respect, I won’t say any names, and nothing is definitive as Brighton will be playing in the Premier League next year.

“Does he play like Icardi? It’s difficult because they play differently. Mauro is a goalscorer, Luis Garcia is more technical. He’s more like a David Silva and even reminds me of Paulo Dybala.”

Not entirely ruling out a move to Italy for his client, it seems there could be room for a deal to be done here, but we doubt Brighton would be entirely pleased at losing such a talented player before he’s even broken into the first-team.

With a few cups to play for next season, perhaps we’ll see a few glimpses of him then.

Furthermore, the youngster himself seems to be enjoying the attention, retweeting press articles linking him to various clubs around Europe on his social media account.
