On Tuesday, we covered a report from Portugal which stated Jota Silva was on the verge of a transfer and Nottingham Forest had put an offer on the table.
The 24-year-old made 42 appearances for the Liga Portugal side, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists. He can play in various attacking positions and it had been expected there’d be something of a battle for his signature this summer.
Vitória de Guimarães were said to have three proposals on the table, and those were from Panathinaikos, Krasnodar and Nottingham Forest.
That made the situation looked great for Forest, given the player was set to have a big say on his next destination. The report was even confident that a move could be completed before the end of the week.
O Jogo now report Jota Silva is flying to England on Wednesday to have a medical with Nottingham Forest, and it sounds like the Premier League club have negotiated a great deal.
They’ll pay just €7m initially, €3m more when he’s made 15 appearances and then a further €2m when he reaches 10 goals. There’s a chance that could all happen next season, taking the payment to a very reasonable €12m.
Nottingham Forest are set to secure Jota Silva on a contract for five seasons.
