Manchester United’s incoming transfers have gone a little on the quiet side after a whirlwind of a week which saw them race ahead for signings.
The track to getting Manuel Ugarte from PSG looks to be a bumpy one right now given the French club are asking way too much for the midfielder, and Erik ten Hag’s transfer negotiators aren’t having any of it.
Over in Germany, Bayern Munich have pushed themselves into a corner with Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs De Ligt and if they sell the pair then it will almost certainly be for far less than they would have wanted.
That’s touched upon by Wednesday’s issue of Bild, which explains that Bayern director Max Eberl telling the world the club needs sales before purchases probably wasn’t the best idea.
That plan hasn’t gone well so far and Bild state ‘the whole of Europe now knows that Bayern has to sell stars’.
Over at Sky Deutschland, Florian Plettenberg reports that in an ideal situation Bayern want to sell both De Light and Mazraoui to Manchester United.
The German club fly to South Korea this afternoon for a preseason trip. De Ligt was never going to be on that flight as he’s on leave until August 2nd, but Mazraoui is expected to be there.
Should he fly out then it’s clear a move to Manchester United isn’t imminent, and obviously it would look to be the reverse if he stays.
