Two days ago, we covered journalist Enzo Bucchioni’s comments about Federico Chiesa, during which he talked up a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s Giovanni Albanese reported yesterday that the player has informed his agent Fali Ramadani he is open to moving abroad.
That agent has travelled to London and it’s claimed there’s been contact with Tottenham and their rivals Chelsea. According to the report, Manchester United and Bayern Munich also made initial enquiries but they haven’t formalised their attempts in any way.
TuttoJuve’s Mirko di Natale goes on to mention that Chiesa has a clear preference for a move to the Premier League and has rejected Besiktas.
The report says Tottenham are ‘on his trail’, and the Lilywhites would have to pay €25-30m for the Italian.
Albanese’s report also mentions that amount, although it’s thought it could go lower. As we’ve repeatedly said, up until recent days the price had been put at €20-25m.
It is important to note in Chiesa’s case that this is a player whose deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and Juventus would not want to lose him on a free transfer. They would be keen on selling him this summer.
Ramadani appears to be working hard to encourage bids and it could be the agent chasing Tottenham rather the reverse.
