Earlier this month, Marca reported Chelsea have withdrawn from the bidding for Samu Omorodion, after Atlético Madrid rejected their last offer of €33m plus €7m bonuses.

Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo claims the Blues have ‘no plan to throw in the towel’ even after their multiple offers were turned down by the La Liga side.

Enzo Maresca ‘really likes’ the striker and Chelsea have been trying to sign him all summer.

It’s claimed the west London club’s initial offer was around €20m, and they then followed it up with more proposals, none of which reached €50m.

Los Rojiblancos signed the 20-year-old from Granada in August 2023 and then sent him out on loan to Deportivo Alavés last season.

The Madrid club plan to include him in Diego Simeone’s plans next season and his exit would only take place in this window if there’s an offer around €70m.

Chelsea believe the Spain U21 international will be ‘very important in world football’ in the future, which is why they continue to chase him.

The Premier League side haven’t given up on Omorodion yet, but they need to decide if they want to invest €70m on a player who has only one full season at the top flight under his belt.
