Earlier this month, we covered a report from AS about West Ham’s interest in signing Villarreal’s Alexander Sørloth. It now appears as though the Hammers have already followed up their initial enquiry with an offer for the player.
The report from AS earlier in the month had claimed that the West Ham hadn’t gone beyond a simple initial enquiry and that Villarreal’s stance regarding keeping the player was strong.
Roma’s offer is most appealing and stands at €30m, but the message sent out to West Ham and Atleti as well is that the Yellow Submarines would only sell Sørloth if the release clause of €38m is met.
Whether West Ham meet that asking price remains to be seen, but the striker’s entourage already know of Villarreal’s stance in the saga.
