Leeds United have been in Germany for their pre-season camp since the weekend and that gave them the opportunity to play a friendly against Hannover 96 on Wednesday.
Bild say this was a ‘top secret’ fixture as no fans were allowed and the tie wasn’t broadcast.
Leeds secured a 4-1 win and the German club’s defeat gets a detailed review in today’s edition of Bild.
The newspaer says it was ‘really scary’ to see Daniel Farke’s side dominate against the second division German club, even though it was a friendly fixture.
It’s pointed out the English side are valued at €200m, while Hannover 96 at €27m. Bild say Leeds were twice as good as Hannover 96.
Hannover 96 manager Stefan Leitl allowed his assistant, Lars Barlemann, to take charge of the clash against the Whites, like he did against third-tier German side Verl.
Leitl was clearly impressed with what he saw from Leeds on Wednesday and he didn’t hold back when praising the Championship side.
“We are good, but they are better than us. Leeds are top class, they have 12, 13, 14, 15 outstanding players,” he said, as quoted by Bild.
