Atalanta have returned with an improved bid of €21m to sign Celtic’s Matt O’Riley after Brendan Rodgers’ side rejected their initial offer of €18m including bonuses.
This was reported by Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday, who stated Celtic are requesting €27m [€24m plus €3m bonuses] to part ways with the midfielder this summer.
As well as the Celtic star, La Dea have Frosinone’s Marco Brescianini in their target list.
That’s according to a fresh report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who then provide the Serie A side’s plan to approach these two players.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi recently insisted that they have never considered selling Teun Koopmeiners in this window. The newspaper relays it and adds that there is no need for the Italian club to bring in another midfielder for the time being.
Therefore, Atalanta have ‘no urgency’ to meet the fees requested by Celtic and Frosinone for O’Riley and Brescianini respectively. They could take their own time to decide if they want to get closer to the demands made to sign one of them.
Gazzetta add Juve also have the Celtic star on their agenda, probably as an alternative to their main target, Koopmeiners.
