On Friday, AS stated Manchester City have ’emerged with force’ to sign RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.
El Desmarque journalist David Ibáñez backs up Manchester City’s interest in the 26-year-old and provides more on his situation.
Barcelona have Olmo on their agenda, and have already met his agents.
The journalist says he’s ‘evaluating the offers’ he has received so far. He hasn’t mentioned the clubs who have made offers, but claims Manchester City, Barca, Bayern Munich and even Arsenal have shown interest in him.
Ibáñez adds the attacking midfielder wants to join a Champions League club, where he can enjoy regular game time.
Barca are also keen on Athletic star Nico Williams. They like to sign both him and Olmo, but they would be able to sign one of them because of their finances. Ibáñez suggests the 21-year-old winger is likely to be favoured ahead of the Leipzig star.
The Spain international is focusing on the Euro 2024 final against England on Sunday, but was asked about his future on Friday.
El Desmarque’s title says: ‘Barça and Manchester City pending, with Nico Williams as a condition’. This indicates that Pep Guardiola’s side may have an easy route to sign Olmo if the Catalan club decide to bet on Williams.
Olmo has sent a message to his interested parties. Sport, who have relayed his quotes, claim his €60m release clause is valid until July 20th.
“They [interested clubs] already know what they have to do. If not, then they will have to fight a little. It’s important that they bet on you and the only thing I want is to continue winning,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bild claim Manchester City are considered as a ‘hot prospect’ to sign Olmo. There should be more clarity on his future after the Euro 2024 final clash between Spain and England on Sunday.
If his release clause isn’t activated, the report states Leipzig are willing to let the player leave for €60m this summer.
