On Thursday, we covered claims from France that Al-Ittihad will do everything they can to sign Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby, who is their dream target.
Later that day, Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari said Al-Ittihad have agreed a deal in principle with the 25-year-old.
He also stated they should open talks with Aston Villa once they receive the player’s final approval.
Longari again took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim Al-Ittihad ‘begin negotiations’ with Aston Villa after receiving approval from the player.
Longari claims the Middle East club are ‘ready to invest’ a fee close to €60m to secure his services this summer.
Al-Ittihad have started talks with Unai Emery’s side, who will have to make a decision on Diaby’s future if they were to receive an offer close to €60m.
The Villans signed Diaby for a club-record fee of around €60m from Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023. He managed 10 goals and nine assists in his debut season at Villa Park.
