There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Caykur Rizespor want to re-sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
The former Liverpool player spent last season on loan with the Super Lig club, where he impressed.
Rizeninsesi report Rizespor want to bring Shelvey back to the club and are in talks with Nottingham Forest. The Turkish side are looking to build an ambitious squad this summer and have already brought in Ali Sowe on loan from Rostov.
It’s claimed Rizespor again asked for another loan deal for Shelvey, but Forest are said to be keen to sell him so rejected this offer. According to the Turkish media outlet, the Premier League side want €6m for the player, whilst Rizespor think he’s worth €4m.
Subsequently the two clubs will continue to hold transfer talks, but if an agreement can’t be made Rizespor will look to alternatives.
Shelvey made 29 appearances for the Turkish side last season, scoring 2 goals. He’s contracted to Nottingham Forest until June 2025 and subsequently the Premier League club will have a decision to make in the coming weeks.
