West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion are among the clubs the mix to sign Ajax’s Josip Šutalo this summer, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Eredivisie side signed the centre-back from Dinamo Zagreb in August 2023 and he finished his debut season at Ajax with 32 appearances.
Prior to his move to Amsterdam, Fiorentina and a few unnamed Italian clubs had shown interest in the 24-year-old.
According to Di Marzio, Fiorentina have rekindled their interest in the defender and have made a new attempt in the last few hours. The Serie A side aren’t alone as West Ham, Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen.
At this moment in time, the journalist says the Croatia international hasn’t yet shown his willingness to join La Viola. That’s because he’s ‘evaluating other opportunities’.
This would suggest Julen Lopetegui’s side, the Seagulls and Bayer Leverkusen have all made approaches, resulting in him evaluating these options.
Šutalo’s deal lasts until 2028 and Ajax would demand a reasonable fee to sell him in this window, although the specifics of that aren’t mentioned.
