Leeds United have been handed their opportunity to sign Jordan Torunarigha from KAA Gent, with the Belgian side determined to sell this summer.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Torunarigha hare ‘planning (and wish) to sell the defender and several other players.

He explains that the new owners have made it their first priority to secure sales from the current squad before moving on to replacements.

Torunarigha is on the list of players they would like to sell alongside Ismaël Kandouss, Hyun-Seok Hong, Andrew Hjulsager, Tarik Tissoudali and Nurio Fortuna.

That should prick up ears at Leeds United after they were credited with an interest in Torunarigha in the last few months.

A report at the end of May indicated that Leeds were in the picture to sign the 26-year-old, whose ‘top season’ had earned him interested from those in charge at Elland Road.

They were said to be ‘keen on him’, particularly as he is set to be available for a fee of €2.5-3m, a figure that the Championship side could presumably afford.

It seems KAA Gent are now almost inviting bids to be made, with Tavolieri reporting that Torunarigha is a player they want to move on. Whether Leeds take note of that and actually do so, remains to be seen.
