On June 21st, Bolavip reported Brighton & Hove Albion’s ‘fat wallet’ would give them an advantage over Boca Juniors in the race to sign Newell’s Old Boys’ Brian Aguirre.
Brighton and Boca Juniors have both made offers to try and secure the 21-year-old’s services in the summer window.
That’s according to TyC Sports, who say Brighton have tabled a $6m [£4.7m] bid, and it was turned down by Newell’s Old Boys.
Boca Juniors have already seen their initial offer rejected. The report states they have made an improved bid of $4m [£3.16m] for 80% of the winger’s rights.
Newell’s Old Boys have rejected Boca Juniors’ latest offer and have made it clear that they will not accept less than $5m [£.3.95m] for 70% of his rights.
The Argentina U20 international’s entourage haven’t yet held talks to discuss personal terms with Boca Juniors, and TyC Sports sends warnings about Premier League competition.
La Gaceta also claim Newell’s Old Boys have rejected Brighton’s $6m bid for Aguirre. The report adds the Seagulls’ interest seem to make it ‘very complicated’ for Boca Juniors to sign the player.
