Crystal Palace star Joachim Andersen has admitted he is continually changing his plans for the future, and where he may end his playing career.
The defender has been speaking to Ekstra Bladet about his career and where it may lead him in future before he decides to hang up his boots.
The 28-year-old has been with Crystal Palace since joining from Lyon in a €17.5m deal in July 2021 and has established himself as a key player in the years since.
That’s particularly been the case under Oliver Glasner, who has quicky managed to get the best out of the Danish defender, as he has with many in the Crystal Palace squad.
It means there will be no talk of a transfer away if they can manage it, with the defender very much a part of the plans moving forwards and tied down to a deal until 2026 anyway.
Most players prefer to end their careers playing back at home where they started and it seems the Crystal Palace man is no different, although he admits the plans are fluid for now.
“Now I’ve never played in the Superliga, so I feel a bit like I’ve lost a bit on that front,” he said.
“I have thought about it (finishing there) a few times, and I change my mind a little. I could imagine finishing in the Superliga because I think it could be fun to try.
“But again, if I have the opportunity to finish abroad in a good club, then that could also be preferable. I change my mind all the time, so I think it’s difficult to assess.
“It also depends on where you are in your career and where you are physically. It’s too early to answer, so we’ll have to see.”
