Since it’s no secret that Aston Villa are having difficulties including Weston Mckennie in the triple deal for Douglas Luiz, the clubs have been working on alternatives.
Reports from Italy today claimed that besides Samuel Iling-Junior, the Bianconeri could offer Moise Kean, and the challenge would be to convince the Villans to take him.
Now as Sport Italia shares some quotes from journalist Alfredo Pedulla, there’s a new player who could be heading to Aston Villa.
That’s Enzo Barrenechea.
“Douglas Luiz, evaluations also underway on Barrenechea if McKennie doesn’t lower his requests,” said the pundit.
Barrenechea spent the season on loan at Frosinone. There, the midfielder was a regular starter and made 39 appearances, but couldn’t help the club avoid the relegation to Serie B.
The Argentine player had come through Juventus’ youth ranks, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €7.5m, with his price rising with his season on loan.
It now remains to be seen whether Aston Villa would be interested in that option. Barrenechea is 23 years old, and in case they had never heard of him before, they may have second thoughts before accepting to include him in the deal.
