West Ham United have reportedly changed their ‘strategy’ to sign Vitão from Internacional.

That’s said by Zero Hora, who today shares an update on the Hammers chase for the centre-back.

It’s recalled that when West Ham placed their first €7m offer for Vitão, Internacional turned that down, demanding €10m for the sale.

The Hammers then took a strategic step back, watching the market, and may make another attempt soon. That’s said to be a way to gain time while looking for other options.

West Ham previously had a failed attempt to sign Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo, agreeing a €15m move but being rejected by the player.

Zero Hora says the Hammers got in touch with agent Giuliano Bertolucci and then opened talks for Vitão, yet with no success yet.

The defender still belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk, but managed to return to Brazil following the war in Ukraine. He has a pre-contract signed with Internacional valid from the 1st of July, so the sale can only be completed after then.
