Tottenham have been presented with their chance to sign Tammy Abraham this summer, with AS Roma open to a deal and him keen on a return to England.
Corriere della Sera cover the striker today, who say Roma are keen to move the striker on, presenting Tottenham with their window to get him.
They explain that Abraham is very much on the list of ‘redundancies’ at Roma at this moment in time after returning from a serious knee injury in April but barely breaking into Daniele de Rossi’s plans when he did.
Roma know that that the striker has suitors in England, with Tottenham named among four clubs interested in him, and that the player ‘would gladly return to England’ if he can.
They would also be able to free themselves of a contract worth €6m a year, which would, again, help to cover for Morata. Whether Tottenham would be willing to pay €30m for Abraham isn’t mentioned, although we would suggest it might be a little high for their tastes.
We’re not sure Roma will stick to such a figure resolutely either as they want the money, so there’s probably room for manoeuvre on that front anyway.
For now, Tottenham are just interested in the former Chelsea man, but the window is there for them to get him if they want to step forward with anything more concrete.
