Barcelona have been credited with interest in Liverpool star Luis Díaz. Last month, Mundo Deportivo said he’s ready to fight with the Reds to seek a move to the Camp Nou.
On June 7th, Sport reported the winger is the first name on Deco’s list for the summer window.
Four days later, the 27-year-old tried talking down Anfield exit claims by insisting that he’s “very happy” at Liverpool.
That hasn’t worked out well so far as Colombian journalist Breinner Arteta Cañizares took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on Barca’s interest in Díaz.
Breinner Arteta Cañizares further adds that the player would have ‘everything lined up’ to leave Liverpool for Barcelona this summer.
In recent days there’s been a little confusion in the Colombian sport media about claims coming from Liverpool and the UK generally regarding the player.
Multiple reports have suggested Díaz isn’t essential for new manager Arne Slot and may not fit the Dutchman’s style so well.
Comments from Stan Collymore, suggesting Díaz isn’t so high in the Reds pecking order, and could therefore be sold this summer, have been covered by multiple outlets in the country, and probably given more weight than they should have been.
Either way, there should be more updates on this case after Barca’s meeting with Díaz’s entourage in the next few days.
