Aston Villa are rushing to push through a deal with Juventus for Douglas Luiz that will see Weston McKennie and Samuel Illing-Junior move to Villa Park.

That’s according to Tuttosport and La Stampa, who both report Aston Villa are keen to finalise the complex operation involving the three players.

First Tuttosport, who report that Aston Villa are ‘in a hurry’ to sell before June 30th so they can be in compliance with PSR rules and Financial Fair Play.

They and Juventus have accelerated negotiations for the player and while there are still a few parts missing, in what is a complex arrangement, Monchi has defined the potential conditions of the deal with his counterpart Cristiano Giuntoli.

The deal will be valued at around €60m, the price Aston Villa have put on Douglas Luiz and consider acceptable to sell him.

They will not be receiving that total amount, though, as it will be a cash plus two player operation, the two players being McKennie and Illing-Junior.

Luiz has already reached an agreement on a four-year contract worth €5m per year including bonuses and it is the Juventus duo who are now holding matters up.

Illing-Junior wants guarantees from Aston Villa and Unai Emery that he will get the playing time he wants next season, particularly after a frustrated campaign under Max Allegri.

McKennie, meanwhile, needs to be convinced on an economic level. He first intends to find a severance agreement with Juventus as he is in the final year of his deal and his agents want to cash in on that fact. There is a belief an agreement will be reached at some point.

La Stampa, relayed by Tutto Juve, say the same, insisting that the transfer operation is now all about the final details.

He’s already reached an agreement on a €5m a year deal plus bonuses so that part of the operation is completed but the final details of the agreement with Aston Villa need to be ironed out.

Once that is done, the plan is for Juventus to send a team to the USA, where he is stationed with Brazil ahead of the Copa America, to undertake his medicals and finalise the transfer.

There is, though, a growing confidence everything will be done before June 30th so Aston Villa can avoid any problems with PSR and FFP.
