Back in April, we covered claims from Italy that Juventus’ Arthur Melo is on Everton’s radar for the summer window.
Last month, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Everton have made contact to sign the 27-year-old, who spent the recently concluded season on loan at Fiorentina. It was also said the Turin club want to sell him as quickly as possible.
Calciomercato.it journalist Giorgio Musso took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover Everton’s interest in the midfielder.
The former Barcelona player has two years left on his deal and Juve have to make a decision on his future.
The Turin club have appointed Thiago Motta as their new manager and the journalist says the Brazilian coach will evaluate whether or not to include his compatriot in his plans.
After a disappointing loan spell at Liverpool during the 2022/23 season, Arthur has not only featured regularly but also impressed for Fiorentina.
His agent Federico Pastorello told TuttoMercatoWeb that he’s confident of finding a new club for his client, if Juve were to leave Arthur out of their plans.
“Now there has been a big change in Juve’s tactical approach with Motta. He is certainly a player who is closest to Thiago’s type of game, then the management will make the assessments. We are calm, he had a great season, it won’t be a problem to find a solution,” he said.
